Welcome to Mug ’n Brush — a fun, relaxed space where families can connect, try something new, and just enjoy being creative. Our space is for everyone: kids can play, and adults can relax, have fun, and make something they’re proud of.

If workshops aren’t your thing, you can still enjoy ceramic painting, pottery wheel hire, or DIY clay sessions. Book a studio session and work on your own projects while being inspired by the creativity around you.

We also run a variety of monthly workshops for anyone who wants a guided experience. We feature the work of local artists and provide an opportunity for our community to explore creativity together. Click here to see all workshops.

Ceramic Painting

Our ceramic painting collection is one of the largest in Western Australia, with pieces suitable for all ages. Pick from mugs, plates, figurines, or even large vases — everything is ready to paint with all tools, stencils, and examples available. It’s relaxing, fun, and totally stress-free.

On selected Saturday evenings, our studio stays open late for Adults Pottery Painting sessions — unwind, paint, or just enjoy a drink and a snack from our bar.

DIY Clay Sessions

Want to get messy and make something completely your own? Our DIY clay sessions give you full access to the studio tools and space, plus your initial firing is included.

$25 per person for 500g of clay

$32 per person for 1kg of clay

Extra clay is also available if you want to make more. These sessions are perfect for beginners, families, or anyone wanting to explore their creative side at their own pace

Pottery wheel hire

Ever wanted to try the pottery wheel and get a little messy? We’ve got you covered!

We have 6 pottery wheels available for DIY sessions 7 days a week. Book your preferred timeslot, grab your clay, and start creating.

These sessions are perfect for beginners who just want to try, or for anyone wanting to keep improving their skills. Sessions run for 2 hours and include all pottery tools.

Pricing:

$30 for 500g clay — first firing included

$37 for 1kg clay — first firing included

The ceramic painting process

How Ceramic Painting Works

We recommend about 1.5 hours for a relaxed painting session, and the last painting session starts 1 hour before closing.

Here’s all you need to do:

  1. Book online or simply pop in — no pressure!

  2. Choose your ceramic piece — we have over 100 items to pick from, ranging from $22–$100.

  3. Paint your piece your way — we provide all the tools, stencils, and tips, but you’re free to create however you like.

  4. We handle the rest — once you’re done, our team will fire and professionally glaze your piece so it’s ready to take home.

Your masterpiece will be ready to collect after 14 days, and you can pick it up any time within 2 months. We don’t send reminders, so make sure to collect it in time!

Sometimes, re-firing may be needed to make your piece perfect, which can slightly extend the waiting time.

And remember: while we do our best, firing isn’t always flawless. Occasionally a piece may break — if that happens, we’ll work with you to find a fair solution
